Frances de Pontes Peebles is the author of the novels The Seamstress (HarperCollins, 2008) and The Air You Breathe (Riverhead, 2018). A native of Pernambuco, Brazil, she holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and is a National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing Fellow in Literature.
