Molly Aitken is the author of the novels The Island Child (Canongate Books, 2020) and Bright I Burn (Knopf, August 2024). Her short stories have appeared in Ploughshares and Banshee and have been dramatized for BBC Radio 4. Molly was born in Scotland, but her writing is often inspired by Ireland, where she grew up in a wind-blasted village on the coast.
