Phillip Lopate is the author of more than a dozen titles, including Waterfront (Crown, 2004), Portrait of My Body (Doubleday, 1996), and Notes on Sontag (Princeton University Press, 2009). His forthcoming books are Essay Love (personal essays) and To Show and to Tell: The Craft of Literary Nonfiction, both from The Free Press/Simon & Schuster in March 2013. He directs Columbia University’s graduate nonfiction program.
