Sandeep Parmar

Sandeep Parmar was born in the UK and raised in Southern California. She is Professor of English Literature at the University of Liverpool where she codirects Liverpool’s Centre for New and International Writing. Her two poetry collections are The Marble Orchard (Shearsman 2012) and Eidolon (Shearsman, 2015), winner of the Ledbury Forte Poetry Prize for Second Collections. Her essays and reviews have appeared in the Guardian, the Los Angeles Review of Books, the New Statesman, the Financial Times and the Times Literary Supplement. She is the cofounder of the Ledbury Poetry Critics scheme for poetry critics of color. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and the Royal Society of Arts and a BBC New Generation Thinker.
