Amy Mackin

Amy Mackin writes at the intersection of education, cultural history, public health, and social equity. Her work has appeared in The AtlanticWitnessThe Washington PostAssay: A Journal of Nonfiction Studies, and The Shriver Report, among other places. She holds an MA in American Studies and an MFA in Creative (Nonfiction) Writing. Amy’s hybrid memoir, Henry’s Classroom: A “Special” Education in American Motherhood, will be released in May 2025 from Apprentice House/Loyola University Press.
