Alexander Gurevich, born in 1959 in Leningrad, is a mathematician by education. He has published two books in his own translation, and his poems have appeared in The Human Foundation and The Star. Since 1993, he has worked as an interpreter for American oil explorers. "Komi" and other poems by Gurevich will appear in an upcoming anthology of Petersburg poets.
