Sandra Beasley
Sandra Beasley is the author of I Was the Jukebox (W. W. Norton & Co., 2010), winner of the Barnard Women Poets Prize; and Theories of Falling (New Issues, 2008). Other honors for her work include positions as the 2013 Visiting Writer at Lenoir-Rhyne University and the 2010 University of Mississippi Summer Poet in Residence, a DCCAH Artist Fellowship, and the Friends of Literature Prize from the Poetry Foundation. Her latest book is Don’t Kill the Birthday Girl: Tales from an Allergic Life (Crown, 2011), a memoir and cultural history of food allergy.
