Tristan Hughes

Tristan Hughes was born in northern Ontario and brought up on the Welsh island of Ynys Mon. He is the author of five novels, including Revenant (Picador, 2008), Eye Lake (Picador, 2011), Hummingbird (Parthian, 2018), and Boundary Waters (Parthian, 2025), as well as two collections of linked short stories, The Tower (Parthian, 2004) and Shattercone (Parthian, 2020).  He is the recipient of the Rhys Davies Short Story Competition and an O. Henry Prize, and teaches creative writing at Cardiff University. (Updated 7/2025)
