Abdelrahman ElGendy

Abdelrahman ElGendy is the author of the memoir HUNA, forthcoming from Hogarth Books in 2026. A winner of the Samir Kassir Award for Freedom of the Press, ElGendy holds an MFA in Nonfiction Writing from the University of Pittsburgh. His work appears in the Washington Post, Foreign Policy, the Nation, Guernica, and elsewhere. His poetry and prose translations from Arabic appear in Poetry Northwest, Literary Hub, and Words Without Borders, among others. (Updated 1/2026)
