Amy M. Alvarez
Amy M. Alvarez is a Black Latinx poet and educator. She has been awarded fellowships from CantoMundo, Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation (VONA), the Macondo Writers Workshop, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and the Furious Flower Poetry Center. Her poetry has appeared in nationally and internationally recognized literary journals, including New Ohio Review, River Styx, Colorado Review, Crazyhorse, Alaska Quarterly Review, PRISM International, and elsewhere. Amy was born in New York City, NY, to Jamaican and Puerto Rican parents. She now lives in Morgantown, WV, and teaches at West Virginia University.
