Erín Moure
Erín Moure is, in Pessoan terms, a philologist of the useless, and conducts this business with great passion, mostly in Montreal, Quebec, though she is currently in Fredericton, New Brunswick, as writer-in-residence at the University of New Brunswick. Her latest book of poetry, Little Theatres, is forthcoming in April, 2005 from House of Anansi Press in Toronto, and an excerpt from her translation from Galician of Chus Pato’s m-Talá appeared from Vancouver’s Nomados Press in late 2003. The most recent of her previous books of poetry are O Cidadán (Anansi, Toronto, 2002), an exploration of what it means to be a citizen, and Sheep’s Vigil by a Fervent Person: A Transelation of Alberto Caeiro/Fernando Pessoa’s O Guardador de Rebanhos (Anansi, 2001). Moure translates commercially as well as translating poetry from French, Galician, Portuguese, Spanish, into English. She has given talks and readings across Canada and the USA as well as in the UK, France, Spain, Portugal and Japan.
