Jane Hirshfield’s most recent book is The Asking: New and Selected Poems (Knopf, 2023). She received the 2024 Zhongkun International Poetry Award, China’s foremost independently-given prize for a world poet, and the 2024 Fred Cody Award for Lifetime Achievement and Service, from the Northern California Book Reviewers. The founder of Poets for Science, she lives on the hem of Mount Tamalpais in northern California.
