Laura Van Prooyen
Laura Van Prooyen, author of Inkblot and Altar (Pecan Grove Press, 2006), was awarded the McGovern prize from Ashland Poetry Press for her second collection of poems, Our House Was on Fire (nominated by Philip Levine); the book is set for release in January 2015. Recent work also appears in The American Poetry Review, Boston Review, andThe Southern Review, among others. Van Prooyen teaches creative writing at Henry Ford Academy: Alameda School for Art + Design in San Antonio, TX. Her website is lauravanprooyen.com.
