T. R. Hummer
T. R. Hummer's The Muse in the Machine: Essays on Poetry and the Anatomy of the Body Politic was published in 2006 by University of Georgia Press. His 8th book of poems, Bluegrass Wasteland: Selected Poems 1982-2002 was published in the UK by Arc Publications in 2006; his 9th, The Infinity Sessions, appeared in the same year from LSU Press. Useless Virtues was published by LSU Press in Fall 2001. His previous collection, Walt Whitman in Hell, won the Hanes Prize for Poetry. Recipient of the Richard Wright Prize for literature and a Guggenheim Fellowship in poetry, he lives in Phoenix, AZ, and is Director of Creative Writing at Arizona State University.
