Valentine Freeman

Valentine Freeman’s work has appeared in the Believer, Rain Taxi, Portland Review, and other journals, and is forthcoming in anthologies by DOPAMINE and fourteen poems. She is the author of two chapbooks, What’s Truly Is Feral (Lost Horse Press, 2011) and Happy Ideas (Ghost City Press, 2025), and the founding editor of Mistake Machine. Valentine’s work has been supported by Community of Writers and the Center for Cultural Innovation. She will begin the Iowa Writers’ Workshop for poetry in fall 2027. (Updated 7/2026)
