Valerie Miner
Valerie Miner is the award-winning author of 10 books, including The Low Road: A Scottish Family Memoir and the novels A Walking Fire, Winter’s Edge, Range of Light, and Blood Sisters. Her work has appeared in Salmagundi, New Letters, Village Voice, Gettysburg Review, Prairie Schooner, Ploughshares, The Nation, etc. She has won fellowships and awards from The Rockefeller Foundation, The McKnight Foundation, The NEA, The Gerome Foundation, The Heinz Foundation, The Fulbright Commission. She is currently Professor of English at the University of Minnesota where she won the 1999 University College Teaching Award. She travels internationally giving readings and workshops. She and her partner live in Minneapolis, MN. and Navarro, CA.
