William Pitt Root

William Pitt Root is at home wandering Mount Lemmon, Madeira Canyon, the San Juan Mountains, and the Weminuche Wilderness with his wolfdog, Mojo Buffalo Buddy. His fifteen collections reflect a life active within and far from academia. His work appears in the New Yorker, the Atlantic, Poetry, and many others. Recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim and Rockefeller Foundations, National Endowment for the Arts, Stanford University and US/UK Exchange Artists Program, Root’s recent books are Strange Angels (Wings Press, 2013) and Sublime Blue (Wings Press, 2013), translations of the odes of Pablo Neruda.
