Winter 2025-26 Issue Launch Party
In January 2026, we hosted Bridget Lowe, Shara McCallum, Maggie Dietz, and Alice Hoffman for a reading at Trident Booksellers in celebration of our Winter 2025-26 issue launch. Filming and editing by Addison Lamaute.
Bridget Lowe is the author of the poetry collections My Second Work (2020) and At the Autopsy of Vaslav Nijinsky (2013), both from Carnegie Mellon University Press. Her poems have appeared widely in publications including the New Yorker, Poetry, American Poetry Review, Best American Poetry, the New Republic, and elsewhere.
Shara McCallum is the author of seven books of poetry, published in the US and UK, including Behold (Alice James Books, September 2026), No Ruined Stone (Alice James Books, 2021), and Madwoman (Alice James Books, 2017). Recognition for her work includes a Guggenheim Fellowship, Musgrave Medal, National Endowment for the Arts Poetry Fellowship, Hurston/Wright Legacy Award, and OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature. McCallum teaches at Penn State University and, from 2021-22, served as the Penn State Laureate.
Maggie Dietz is the author of the poetry collections If You Would Let Me (Four Way Books, 2026), That Kind of Happy (University of Chicago Press, 2016), and Perennial Fall (University of Chicago Press, 2006). The founding director of the Favorite Poem Project, Dietz is co-editor of three anthologies related to the project. Her awards include a Pushcart Prize and fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center, Phillips Exeter Academy, and the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts. She teaches at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
Alice Hoffman is the author of more than thirty works of fiction, including When We Flew Away (Scholastic Press, 2024), The World That We Knew (Simon & Schuster, 2019), The Marriage of Opposites (Simon & Schuster, 2015), The Red Garden (Crown Publishing, 2011), The Museum of Extraordinary Things (Scribner, 2014), The Dovekeepers (Scribner, 2011), Here on Earth (Putnam, 1997), an Oprah’s Book Club selection, and the Practical Magic series, including Practical Magic (Putnam, 1995), Magic Lessons (Simon & Schuster, 2020), The Rules of Magic (Simon & Schuster, 2017), a selection of Reese’s Book Club, and The Book of Magic (Scribner, 2022). She lives near Boston.
