Patricia Hooper
Patricia Hooper is the author of three collections of poetry, Other Lives, which was awarded the Norma Farber First Book Award of the Poetry Society of America, At the Corner of the Eye (Michigan State University Press,) and Aristotle’s Garden (Bluestem Press,)winner of the 2003 Bluestem Poetry Award and available at http://www.emporia.edu/bluestem/. She is also the author of four children’s books. Her poems have appeared in many magazines, including The Atlantic Monthly, The American Scholar, Orion, The New Criterion, The Hudson Review,The Kenyon Review, The American Poetry Review, Iowa Review and The Southern Review. A graduate of the University of Michigan, where she earned M.A. and B.A. degrees, she has been the recipient of five Hopwood Awards, the Poetry Society of America’s Bernice W.Ames Award, and Writer’s Community Residency Award from the National Writer’s Voice.
